Val Valentyn is determined to make a fresh start. She's going to exercise, eat right and remain cheerful and optimistic. Not all of the time, obviously. No one can be cheerful all of the time.

It was a quick read that kept you interested in all the way to the end.
Funny interplay among the characters with a plot that ended with a surprising twist. Good reading-especially for ladies, old and young.
Ms Jackson writes some good books. This is the third in the series and it was good but still not as funny as the first one which had me laughing out loud at some of the antics they got up to trying to solve a murder. If you like funny mysteries you will enjoy this one, try the other ones first.

Once again Val is a suspect in a murder and has to prove her innocence. She is also a laughing stock thanks to a YouTube video of her drunken antics going viral. The mystery is almost besides the point, as these books are mainly about the funny thoughts and deeds of Val, her friends and her family.
Fast reading. Wasn't sure if I was going to like this but was glad I stuck with it and finished it.
Val Valentyn's neighbor, Will Matheson, is murdered. She thinks she was dating him but turns out, he was married, had a fiance and a slew of women friends. Some detective! Val and Rose and Julie work on finding out who murdered the womanizer.
